Staff from the Center for Wildlife plan to release a rehabilitated barred owl this evening (April 16, 2008) at 6:30 pm off Beech Ridge Road in York. We will meet at 6:15 at 93 Beech Ridge Road, near the church and the intersections with Betty Welch and Scotland Bridge Roads. The public is welcome to attend this event. The owl being released was rescued on January 24 after being stuck by a car and sustaining both a fractured right foot and damage to one eye. After making a complete recovery, he is ready to return to life in the wild - please join us to see him off! If you can't make this release, don't worry - there will be another one soon.Call the Center with any questions at 207-361-1400, or to sign up to receive email notification of the next barred owl release.
